Dee Madigan is an award winning Creative Director with over 20 years experience working in the advertising industry.
As well as campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands including HSBC, Diet Coke, J&J and Rexona and Nestle, Dee has extensive social marketing and political campaigning - she has worked on 11 election campaigns, including the 2015 Qld and the 2016 NT and ACT campaigns. Geoff Summerhayes
A purpose and values driven leader who has made significant contributions in a breadth of economic sectors including property and the built environment, wealth management, banking, insurance and most recently in prudential regulation as an Executive Board Member of APRA.
Appointed to APRA in 2016 by the Australian Parliament for a five year term, Geoff championed a significant organisational transformation of APRA sharpening its strategy, aligning its governance, lifting its leadership capability, improving diversity and culture metrics, broadening the organisation's risk focus and prudently guiding APRA regulated entities through a tumultuous period.
Geoff has been a forthright leader on raising awareness of climate change financial risk in Australia and globally. He chaired the Council of Financial Regulators Working Group on Climate Change, its members include APRA, ASIC, RBA and Treasury.
Internationally, Geoff was a member of the Executive Committee of the global standard setting body for insurance, the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and chaired its Audit and Risk Committee. He chaired the UN Environment Program’s Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF), a global body of insurance regulators collaborating on sustainability and climate change and represented IAIS and SIF at the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).

Hugh Miller

Taylor Fry
Hugh Miller is a principal at Taylor Fry, where he has worked for 15 years. Over the past 5 years he has been working almost exclusively in government analytics, modelling in sectors such as welfare, housing, homelessness, disability and suicide prevention. He holds a PhD in statistics, has a keen interest in actuarial research, is part of Institute’s Public Policy Council Committee, and is also an editor at Actuaries Digital. He’s written a series of papers on economic assumptions in actuarial contexts.

Ian Laughlin
Ian has had a long career in financial services in Australia, the UK, New Zealand and Hong Kong. He has extensive experience as a regulator, insurance company independent chairman, director and managing director, as well as other senior management roles. He is an actuary by profession and is now a consultant to boards and senior management.
Ian has a deep interest in risk management and risk culture. In recent years, he has had a particular interest in the impact of social attitudes and norms on risks for financial services businesses. He was Actuary of the Year in 2018.

James (Jim) Minto

Jim Minto holds Chair positions for Swiss Re Life & Health Australia, the Advisory Board of Swiss Reinsurance Company Limited (Australian branch) and NZ Life Insurer Partners Life Limited. He is a Director for Dai-ichi Life Asia Pacific in Singapore, Equity Trustees Ltd and the National Disability Insurance Agency.
Mr Minto’s diverse career in financial services included 26 years of appointments as CEO with TOWER Group companies ranging across all elements of insurance and investment. He was Group MD in 2005 and became Managing Director of TOWER Australia now known as TAL in 2006 and retired from that role from 6 years ago.
He was a former chair and board member of ASFA including a brief stint as acting CEO. He chaired the Life Insurance in Superannuation Industry working group that developed the first Code of practice for life insurance in superannuation. He was a member of the federal government Natural disaster Insurance Review panel in 2011.

Ms Jillian Broadbent AC
Ms Broadbent has had a career across the Australian business, public and arts sectors. She serves on the board of Macquarie Group Limited and has recently completed an 11 year term as Chancellor of the University of Wollongong and 9 years on the Board of Woolworths Limited. She was 15 years on the board of the Reserve Bank of Australia, the inaugural Chair of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and has served as Chair of the board of Swiss Re Life and Health Australia Limited, and as a director on the boards of ASX Limited, Special Broadcasting Corporation (SBS), Qantas Airways Limited, Westfield Property Trusts, Woodside Petroleum Limited and Coca-Cola Amatil Limited.
She maintains an active interest in the arts, is a director of the Sydney Dance Company, the National Portrait Gallery and been a member of the boards of the Sydney Theatre Company, NIDA, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and the Art Gallery of NSW.
In 2019 she was made a Companion of the Order of Australia for her contribution to corporate, financial, clean energy and cultural organisations, to higher education and to women in business.

Kristian Kolding
Kristian Kolding leads Deloitte Access Economics Macroeconomic Forecasting and Policy Team in Sydney. He specializes in the application of economic analysis and forecasting to support corporate strategy and planning, policy, development and M&A due diligence.
Kristian was also responsible for the Deloitte Horizon scenario planning team and was responsible for Deloitte Access Economics economic forecast model for a number of years. This has provided him with an integral knowledge of economic relationships, the practical nature of forecasting and the effect of economic changes on corporate strategy and policy development.
Kristian has co-authored a number of editions of Deloitte’s primary through leadership publication ‘Building the Lucky Country’. He regularly presents his views for directors, executives and senior public servants.

Nicki Hutley
Nicki is a highly experienced economist, with broad-based expertise in both macroeconomics and microeconomic policy gained over more than three decades in financial and investment markets and in economic consulting. She is particularly interested in the intersection of economy, society and environment.
After many years in the corporate world, including most recently as a partner with Deloitte Access Economics, Nicki is now an independent economist and keynote speaker. She also consults with Social Outcomes, developing social impact programs and finance solutions as well as measuring impact using triple bottom lone Cost Benefit Analysis. In 2020, Nicki was appointed as a Councillor for the Climate Council and admitted as an expert faculty member (economics) to SingularityU Australia.
Nicki is a council member for the Economics Society of Australia (NSW), and a Board member for One Million Women and the Financy Women’s Index.

Nicolette Rubinsztein
Non-Executive Director
Nicolette is a non-executive director in the wealth management industry, with board positions in a number of leading companies including UniSuper, Zurich Australia Limited, Class Limited, CBHS Health Fund and SuperEd.
In 2020, Nicolette became a Director of Greenpeace Australia Pacific Limited.
She was President of the Actuaries Institute in 2019 and was previously a director of ASFA for eight years. Prior to her board career, Nicolette held three General Manager roles at CBA/ Colonial First State spanning 14 years as well as senior positions at BT Funds Management and Towers Perrin prior to that.
Nicolette is a qualified actuary, holds an executive MBA from the AGSM and is a graduate of AICD. She is author of the book “Not Guilty”, a guide for career mums. In 2014 she was named one of the top 10 "most powerful part-timers". She is married to Jonathan Rubinsztein and they have three daughters. |

Queenie Chow

Queenie calls herself an “actuary without borders” – a passionate actuary working in global development and inclusive insurance. She works with the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman (MIC@M) as a Microinsurance Specialist. She is based in Melbourne and works across all emerging markets. Inspired to make insurance accessible to all, Queenie has previously worked with the Impact Insurance Facility of the United Nation’s International Labour Organization across countries like Kenya, Togo, China and Philippines etc.
She is an Australian-qualified actuary with over 10 years of experience working in consulting and has been working within the microinsurance innovation space in the past few years. Queenie was recently given the “40 under 40: most influential Asian-Australian Awards and has recently been appointed as the President of the Young Actuaries Advisory Board (YAAB).

Rade Musulin

Rade Musulin is a Principal at Finity Consulting in Sydney, Australia, where he leads the Climate Risk practice. Previously he served as the Chief Executive Officer of FBAlliance Insurance, Chief Operating Officer of Aon Benfield Analytics Asia Pacific, and Vice President Operations, Public Affairs, and Reinsurance for the Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.
Rade serves as Convenor of the Actuaries Institute of Australia Climate Change Working Group, the Vice-Chair of the International Actuarial Association’s Resource and Environmental Working Group, and was Vice President – Casualty for the American Academy of Actuaries from 2016 – 2018.
His main areas of interest include how changing population demographics affect catastrophe exposure, climate change adaptation, applications of catastrophe models for disaster planning in developing countries, building code development, and community resilience. Rade has maintained close ties with academic institutions, including being a lecturer for undergraduate classes in actuarial science, risk management, and political science.

Professor Russell Gruen
Professor Russell Gruen is the Dean of the College of Health and Medicine at the Australian National University in Canberra. He is a trauma surgeon, who spent 15 years managing patients seriously injured in car crashes, falls and interpersonal violence, and was Director of the National Trauma Research Institute at The Alfred in Melbourne, where he was also the world’s first Professor of Surgery and Public Health at Monash University. He also has a PhD on health services for remote areas of Australia, and spent 3 years living in a remote Arnhem Land community. He has fellowships in health policy, medical ethics and business management at Harvard. He also recently helped develop as Vice-Dean a new medical school in Singapore, the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a partnership between NTU Singapore and Imperial College London, and was Director of the Institute for Health Technologies.
He is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, and the International Surgical Society, in which he is President of the Alliance for Surgery and Anaesthesia Presence, its global surgery arm.

Tan Suee Chieh
Tan Suee Chieh is the President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a member of the Presidential Team (June 2019 to June 2022).
He also sits on the boards of Singapore University of Social Sciences, Sim Kee Boon Institute of Financial Economics (SMU), LSE Trust (Singapore), Singapore School of the Arts and various boards of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK).
He was the Group Chief Executive at NTUC Enterprise from October 2013 to February 2017. Enterprise is the holding entity of the NTUC social enterprises (cooperatives). The group has businesses in: Retail; Food & Beverage; Financial Services; Education & Training services; Eldercare services and Property.
From 2007 to 2013, Suee Chieh was the Chief Executive of NTUC Income, a composite cooperative insurer and one of the largest insurance businesses in the Singapore market.
Between 2003 and 2007, he was President, Asia Pacific of the SHL Group Ltd, a British HR consultancy firm and a world leader in objective assessment. From 1981 to 2001, Suee Chieh was with the Prudential Group and held several senior positions including Actuary of Prudential Malaysia, Chief Executive of Prudential Singapore and Regional Managing Director, Established Markets of Prudential Corporation Asia.
Suee Chieh has a first class honours degree from the London School of Economics and a Masters degree from Columbia University, New York.
He is a Past President of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore and the Actuarial Society of Malaysia.
