Organising Committee

Michelle is a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting. She has life insurance and reinsurance experience in valuation, capital, pricing, and R&D. More recently, Michelle has focussed on process transformation and data analytics within life insurance.

She is a member of the Actuaries Institute Climate Change Working Group, the COVID-19 Working Group, and is currently the convenor for this year’s Young Actuaries Conference.

James Aclis

James is a qualified FIAA, CERA and jack of many trades (or at least hopes to be), currently working in the General Insurance Actuarial team at KPMG. Having worked in NZ, the UK and Saudi Arabia, and with experience in valuations, modelling and risk, he truly believes that communication is the neglected key to success.

Queenie Chow

Queenie is the President of YAAB. She likes to call herself an “actuary without borders” – a passionate actuary working in global development and inclusive insurance. Inspired to make insurance accessible to all, Queenie works with the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman as a Microinsurance Specialist and has worked across countries like Kenya, Togo, China and Philippines etc. Queenie was recently given the “40 under 40: most influential Asian-Australian Awards”.

Kriti Khullar

Kriti is a Risk Intelligence Insights Lead at IAG with experience in provisioning, stress testing, credit risk portfolio reporting, risk data, risk systems, risk infrastructure, risk applications, divisional and enterprise wide risk reporting for executive and Board audiences. She is an Associate Actuary with a keen interest in applying data analytics and the intelligence tradecraft to hone the future of risk management.

Christine Li

Christine is an Actuarial Analyst at Mercer, providing actuarial advice to various clients. Christine also explores work in retirement income and wellbeing in retirement. She is currently Secretary to the Institute’s Superannuation and Investments Practice Committee, and is a member of the Institute’s Retirement Income Working Group. Outside of work, Christine enjoys painting and making various desserts. She also loves exploring the world and cannot wait for international travel to happen again.

Muiz Murad

Muiz is currently working towards his Associateship with the Actuaries Institute of Australia. He has recently graduated from Bond University with a Bachelors of Actuarial Science majoring in Big Data and Finance and has commenced his career at RAC WA working as an Actuarial Analyst in the General Insurance space. 

Muiz is passionate about voicing the concerns of Young Actuaries and creating platforms for young actuaries to use to grow their networks. Muiz has been involved with the Climate Chance Risk Working Group and Life Insurance Practice Sub Committee.

Sheena Soh

Based in Singapore, Sheena is a newly qualified actuary with more than 5 years of experience in the life and health industry. She is currently working as a reinsurance broking actuary at Willis Towers Watson providing support to clients in South East Asia. Prior to her current role, she was working as a valuation actuary in a direct life insurer. Aside from work, Sheena also represents Singapore in Underwater Hockey in various regional competitions.

Marcus Stavrakis

Marcus is currently completing his Bachelor of Actuarial Science at Monash University and is currently working for Westpac in the retail banking division. He has been heavily involved within the Monash Actuarial Student Society and is a huge advocate for student needs. He believes that the challenges that young people are facing must be handled together and tackled head on.

Tim Yip

Tim is a Director at Taylor Fry, and has worked in the general insurance industry since 2012. He has extensive experience providing reserving, M&A, pricing and capital management services to general insurers. He also specialises in providing actuarial advice to corporate workers’ compensation self-insurers across all Australian jurisdictions.
