A member who is:
- Either on extended or maternity leave, or has other special circumstances; and
- Is not providing a Professional Service,
may apply to Council in writing for an exemption from the requirements of Professional Standard 1: Continuing Professional Development (PS1) by submitting a CPD Exemption Request.
Members who have retired from all forms of employment, whether paid or not, are automatically exempt and students enrolled in a recognised actuarial education course will be deemed to have complied by virtue of their enrolment. Affiliate and Associate Members who sit education courses are deemed to have complied with PS 1 on a pro‑rata basis in respect to the relevant semester.
