Craig Price is the Head of Data Science & AI Centre of Excellence where he manages a team of data scientists and analytics professionals building innovative solutions for market leading brands incl. AAMI, Suncorp, GIO and Apia. Craig has significant expertise in strategy, execution and innovation in data science, insurance pricing and analytics. Craig has previously held senior roles managing large teams across the insurance and banking sector and has more than 25 years of experience in financial services. 

Outside of work, he is passionate about making a difference in the community development and disaster relief sector.

Amanda Aitken Amanda Aitken

Amanda is a member of the Institute’s Actuarial Education team. She brings her passion for teaching and years of actuarial experience to this role, which is focussed on redeveloping the Actuary and Fellowship exams for actuarial students.

Amanda has worked closely with universities and other members of the Data Analytics Practice Committee to design a new Data Analytics Principles subject, which will form part of the actuarial education program from 2020.

Her actuarial background is in workers' compensation, where she used her analytical skills to uncover scheme trends and develop initiatives and strategies to improve scheme outcomes. Amanda has also been involved in a variety of analytical projects, including forecasting membership profiles of sporting clubs and building.

Rob is the founder of Boxer which creates software for insightful and efficient financial modelling. He is an actuary with experience across analytics, DC & DB superannuation consulting, insurance and product design. Working in both Australia and Japan he’s driven a wide variety of analytics projects to success in a wide variety of fields including retail, forensics, supply chain, M&A, and management reporting.

Chris Dolman Chris Dolman
Chris Dolman has wide ranging insurance industry experience, having worked across multiple countries as both an advisor and in industry, in both traditional and non-traditional roles. He is currently GM, Analytics at IAG, helping to drive data driven decision making across all aspects of the organisation.

Aaron Cutter
Aaron was a physicist and is now an actuary and Principal at Finity experienced in general insurance and accident compensation. Recently he has set up and leads Finity’s Big Data practice, also known as Defin’d and is committed to actuaries in analytics playing a further significant role in this space.  He is a strong believer that actuaries help organisations better understand their businesses, their customers and hence are well placed to help with issues of strategic importance.  Actuaries, data and analytics in business problem solutions will only deepen as the world’s generation, retention and ability to interrogate data explodes.

Basem Morris
Basem is a data analytics actuary at Deloitte.  He is a qualified actuary with extensive experience in analytics, banking and insurance. Prior to joining Deloitte, he spent 10 years working in London where he advised some of the largest European, Asian and Australian financial institutions.

Bringing together a unique blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen, he focuses on bridging the gap between analytics and business needs.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) from Macquarie University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA).

Jas Singh
Jas is a Managing Consultant at SKL Actuarial, a specialist actuarial recruitment firm. He has over 10 year’s actuarial experience working in life insurance, non-life insurance and wealth management, both in Australia and the U.K.

Mike Is head of actuarial management and is Appointed Actuary at Swiss Re Life & Health Australia. He has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry and is a qualified UK and Australian actuary (FIAA, 2005). He has a broad international background, having been located during his career in five different countries and for direct writer, consulting and reinsurance employers. Mike has strong management experience and experience with major system migration projects. He is interested in exploring how new data analytical techniques could be used to enhance the traditional actuarial fields of experience studies and monitoring, early warning systems and policy liability valuation.

 Peter BnW Peter Mulquiney

Peter is a Principal of Taylor Fry. His role centres on analytics, drawing on more than 15 years’ experience in actuarial consulting. He provides advice to business clients, the social sector and injury schemes. Among his projects, Peter has worked with the NSW Government to develop a model that predicts the life pathways of each child and young person in NSW. This work is being used to develop new programs that aim to improve outcomes for society’s most vulnerable. Peter joined Taylor Fry in 2003 after a two-year research fellowship at Oxford University, which he won through the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia for his PhD in biochemistry.

Andrés is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Risk and Actuarial Studies at the University of New South Wales and an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) where he was previously a Research Fellow. Andrés completed his doctoral studies at Cass Business School in London focusing on the modelling and projection of mortality. Andrés’s research interests include mortality modelling, longevity risk management and the application of analytics techniques in actuarial science and finance.

Sue is a data analytics lead at Greenstone and has experience across a wide range of data sets and applications including insurance, banking and FMCG. Sue is focussed on driving analytics through to implementation by a strong understanding of the business and designing custom solutions which fit the need.

Sue also has a strong interest in supporting and developing up and coming analytics professionals.

Jon is a Principal in Suncorp's Data Science & Analytics Division. His role focuses on using data science to optimise business processes and uplift analytical capability across the entire organisation: General Insurance, Life Insurance, Banking, and Enterprise Functions. Through his career he has designed, led and delivered successful initiatives across many areas including pricing, customer analytics, claims operations, automation, mobile app development, and innovation.

Jon graduated from UNSW with first class honours and the University Medal in Actuarial Studies, and is a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute.

Bill Konstantinidis
Bill Konstantinidis 
Bill has extensive experience within the general insurance area. He is currently General Manager Product at Covermore where he looks after the product, underwriting and actuarial teams of the company for travel insurance. He was previously Executive Manager Pricing Commercial Customer at Suncorp within the Chief Data Office (where he managed a large team of actuaries and analysts covering valuation, pricing and analysis of a wide range of general insurance products across the Suncorp Group), having held other Executive Manager positions with Suncorp prior to that. He has also held Chief Underwriting Officer/Executive Manager roles with Allianz Global Assistance, RACQ Insurance and CUNA Mutual. In 2011 he was President of the Queensland Branch of ANZIIF (Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance).

Elayne Grace - CEO 

Elayne Grace is CEO of the Actuaries Institute. She was previously Deputy CEO and Head of Public Policy from 2013 – 2017, responsible for the development and implementation of the Institute’s public policy strategy. Elayne has 25 years’ international experience with leading consulting firms and major insurers. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance.
Tony Burke -  Head of Member Services Operations 

Tony is Head of Member Services Operations at the Institute, and leads the Education, Events, Member Services Administration and Product and Professional Development teams. His trademark is the ability to translate sophisticated business strategy, market knowledge, and industry insight into growth and expansion roadmaps. With over 20 years of leadership experience, Tony has excelled both as an effective senior executive and as the transformation datalyst for the development and advocacy of policy with Commonwealth and State Governments, statutory bodies, and media representatives. Tony has operated in a range of senior roles with multinational companies operating in the logistics, banking, and B2B markets, and as head of policy and strategy for the banking industry. In all these appointments, Tony’s greatest achievement was his unwavering ability to seamlessly lead through change, evolution, innovation, and action.

Clare Hughes

Public Policy & Practice Excellence Adviser, Actuaries Institute

Clare is a member of the Public Policy and Practice Excellence team at the Institute. Clare has a background in strategic communications including Investor Relations, Government Relations and Internal Communications and has experience in financial services and real estate investment trusts (REITs). Clare has a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance).
